I am sick and tired of people comparing the United States and oppressed countries, sorry to pick on you China but your on the hot seat because of the Olympics. There are anti-China blogs going around now because the Olympics are around the corner and people are protesting it being in Beijing which is understandable except for the comments that somehow circulate saying the United States is as bad as China when it is far from it.
Have Americans gotten so idiotic to say that we are oppressed. I have been to China and saw people conscious of every word they spoke, every movement was closely monitored by the police, friends have even reported seeing people taken to the alley and shoved in a van. We as Americans speak freely of anything that we want, our comments of Bush’s presidency are posted anywhere and everywhere freely without any regard. The worse that may happen is someone disagree and or proving you wrong. But remember you can post that without any consequences.
In China people have to live with their choices and live in fear of the government. I have seen people beaten down by oppression that its difficult to look at them. They did not have the choices we did for creating a better life, they are just surviving.
My last comment of the post is to do your research. Do not spout ridiculous comments comparing the land of the free to the land of the oppressed. If you want to give a comment, be respectful instead of a dumbass that saw two minutes of an nbc special and thinks they know all about oppression while sitting on your comfortable couch.
