I saw an old friend today…

I wanted to yell out and say hi but something inside of me said no. I recognized him from being my neighbor as a kid and my best friend up until high school. He did not change his appearance, he was still in black clothes and had the same hair. It has been 6 years since I have seen him last when he was supposed to help me move but did not show up. I am a person that remembers what people have said and what they have done but I am not a person who forgets easily. I did not know what to do.

This is maybe the second time I have seen him. He was across the street and it was a three lanes, my body wanted to say hi but my mind said you are going to be late to work so don’t do it. I did not know what to do so I listened to my mind and just kept walking.

When I was going through high school and partially college, he did not show desire or determination and that is the difference that separated us. I always strived to become something but he did not and it appears that he is the same.

Was I wrong for not saying hi?

I saw a girl that I knew today, I only dated her once and she is still one of the most beautiful girls I ever had the pleasure of taking to dinner. She was more beautiful today then I remember. She smiled at me and I smiled back. My became heart a flutter or however that saying goes. I just walked around downtown Denver and seeing her for a few seconds and i’m still in awe of her presence. Every time I see her, I turn into a pile of mush. I haven’t felt like this since middle school where every girl I possibly liked would do this to me. There are realizations that I noticed today after seeing her.

My feelings from middle school have changed, I think i’m just happy she’s doing alright because I haven’t seen her since that first date. At least I came to this realization rather than be that guy. Everyone reading this knows about that guy, that incessantly calls her because he still has her phone number. I’m going to repeat myself but i’m happy she’s doing okay and everything is appear to be going well for her. : )

P.S. I’ll probably be writing a follow up to this because I need to figure out what i’m feeling so I can write it all down.

Call of Duty: World at War gives you everything that you expect from a multiplayer frag fest, enjoyment of killing with the frustration of dying. The controls are the same as COD4, a various assortment of guns with strengths and weaknesses, and a alot of extras. The intensity of the game is still there, run and gun before you die. The levels range from German cities to a small fishing village in Japan. Everything that you expect from Call of Duty is still there but the multiplayer faulters on many fronts compared to its predecessor.

Let me begin with the most horrible part, spawn points, in COD4, when you died you simply spawned near a teammate away from the action. In COD:WaW, you are spawned near the action, majority of the time you are spawned in front or behind an enemy. There have been countless times where I was spawned with the recon on just to find out that I have been surrounded by 3 or more enemy combatants. There is a large selection of weapons in COD:WaW but being able to compete is difficult because the later levels have the better weapons. I remember in COD4, I started out with the M16 and was able to hold my own with level 30 people when I was level 10. Each weapon had its drawbacks but overall they were equal in my opinion. In COD:WaW, the later levels get the strong weapons and are able to have a distinct advantage. I’ll run around with a type 100 gun just to be ripped apart by PPSH with 5 bullets hitting me from far away. The PPSH is a weapon that get somewhere in the 40s. This weapon just rips apart enemies and I have not seen a weapon that can compare to it at previous levels.

Call of Duty: World at War is a great game and you should get it if you don’t have. The only thing I can say is be prepared for some bad spawn points. The creators of the game should just patch this up and no one will complain, but until then I will still complain abou the crappy spawn points.

Lately I have stopped reading quite a bit of text blogs and have increased my intake of comic blogs. From my point the comic blogs are harder to create because most comic strips are usually a few slides. In those few slides they have to create an emotion from the reader, and i’m lucky that i can laugh at most things. The comic blogs that I read are Explosm, Least I Could Do and XKCD. Since these blogs have done well I predict that many comic blogs are going to come out, some will be good and others will fail. Now here is a comic from Explosm.
